Airport Cogeneration

Thermax have supplied Hot water driven chillers to the Fumincino Airport in Rome, Italy. The total installed cooling capacity is 8 MW and is driven by hot water coming from heat rejected by three gas turbines of 8.5 MWe each. The system and controls have been designed to handle DT in hot water of over 50° C.

Thermax have also designed and executed similar tailor made solutions using absorption technology to recover heat from cogeneration plants involving Gas Engines, Gas Turbines, Micro Turbines, Fuel Cells, etc.The heat is recovered in terms of Low, medium or high temperature hot water or steam.Alternatively by feeding the exhaust gases from the prime movers directly into the chiller.
